- Limestone is a soft rock that’s usually gray, but can also be white, yellow, or brown.
- It’s made up of calcium carbonate, which comes from the shells of marine animals.
- Limestone is easily scratched and reacts with acids.
Uses
- Construction: Used as a base for roads, landfills, and oil wells. It can also stabilize construction entrances and wet, muddy job sites.
- Landscaping: Used for erosion and flood control, drainage, and hardscaping. It can also be used to eliminate weeds and reduce the need for irrigation.
- Drainage: Used in drainage ditches and as a filling stone for Gabion Baskets.
